Calgary, Alberta Since 1998
EMM Labs and Meitner Audio are Canadian high-performance audio companies dedicated to the design and manufacture of advanced digital and analog audio electronics. Based in Calgary, Alberta, both brands are built around the engineering and design philosophy of founder Ed Meitner, whose work in digital audio has helped shape professional and high-end audio reproduction for decades. EMM Labs represents the company’s reference-level product line, incorporating proprietary technologies developed in-house across digital-to-analog conversion, clocking, signal processing, power supplies, preamplification and amplification. Its products are designed for uncompromising performance and are used in high-end audio systems around the world. Meitner Audio brings many of the same core technologies and engineering principles into a more streamlined range of products, offering exceptional performance while making the company’s technology accessible to a broader group of music enthusiasts. Unlike manufacturers that rely heavily on off-the-shelf solutions, EMM Labs and Meitner Audio develop many of their fundamental technologies in-house, including proprietary discrete DAC architectures, digital signal processing, asynchronous clocking systems, analog circuitry and power supply designs. The company’s products are designed, tested and manufactured in Canada. Across both brands, the focus remains consistent: engineering audio components that preserve the integrity of the original signal while combining technical innovation, long-term reliability and thoughtful industrial design. Today, EMM Labs and Meitner Audio products are represented by a global network of authorized dealers and distributors.
